39 Iconic Senior Portraits of Will Eriksson of Maryville High School

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville presents Will Eriksson of Maryville High School. When Will's mom, Paula Osborn, originally contacted us to inquire about booking a session we immediately knew we were perfect for each other! Paula told us that she had searched all over the internet for a sports photographer until she came across our website. A lot of our client's are referred via word of mouth, so the fact that Paula took the time out of her day to search sports photographers in the area told us that she was serious about getting high quality sports portraits. Furthermore, when we found out that Paula is the owner of ROOST - an interior design company based in Maryville with an impressive range of clientele and a passion for handmade craft - we were flattered to be working for such a well respected and talented local artist. Now, we can't forget to give a quick shout out to the star of the show, Maryville High School Senior Class of 2020, Will Eriksson. During the shoot, Will was extremely easy to work with. We decided that we thought Will looked like a young Mark Wahlberg, so it was almost impossible to take a bad photo of him. Even when the wind blew, it's like it was always blowing his hair in the right direction! Will has played baseball since he was 5 years old, and was the catcher for the Maryville High School Rebels Baseball Team. Will is currently planning on attending the University of Tennessee where he will study to become a pediatric dentist. This brings us to one of the most sentimental moments of our career since we began Lenz Photography back in 2011. At Lenz Photography, we market and brand ourselves as badass sports photographers. "You Are Iconic" has been the catchphrase we have used since 2014 to convey the feeling of the larger-than-life style we try to create while showcasing the athletes we photograph. We've NEVER tried to market by taking the "let us capture your memories forever" approach. Nothing against any photographers that do that, but it's just not our style. However, that doesn't mean that we can't do both, and Paula's testimonial on instagram is proof of that: "Sunday night I watched my son put on his baseball uniform for the last time to have these pictures taken. I sat on the metal bleachers and watched his traditional cadence of buckling on his shinguards, pulling over his chest protector and sliding his mask over his face.. I have watched him put on his catchers equipment soooo many times, but this time was very different...this time I was unexpectedly overcome with emotion. I tried to pull myself together as the photographers worked with him, but behind my sunglasses, crocodile tears streamed down my face. I have sat on bleachers and watched my son play baseball since he was 5. Truly, I was really looking forward to baseball season as much as he was.... one last season of cheering and enjoying watching him play the game that he loves . I know that all of you other parents of High School Seniors can relate to this. We were all looking forward to celebrating our children. With every click of the camera and flash of the bulbs, I slowly began to heal.... maybe in an unexpected way sitting on that bleacher was the therapy I needed. This circumstance is not what any of us envisioned, and yes, it is hard. We have some great kids y’all, and I know that our kids will do amazing things in this world! I have always loved this quote which seems fitting for today... “Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you will ever know”. #seniors2020#wewillriseup #betterdaysarecoming#momofasenior2020 #mykid#seniorstrong" -@ROOSTHOME It's moments like this that really make us slow down and truly appreciate what we do. Luckily, we were able to get Will's session in before the quarantine was put into place, but on the other hand, it was bittersweet to get the news that no school sports would take place the entire month of April. Paula's post truly brought tears to our eyes. We focus on the technical details behind the camera and the many aspects of growing a small business, but without the amazing clients we have the opportunity of working with, we wouldn't have amazing portraits. We appreciate all the athletes that put in the hard work to achieve their goals. We appreciate all the parents that invest in their children. And we appreciate everyone who has supported us through the struggle of running a small business for nearly a decade. Our hearts go out to the Seniors of 2020. We are all in this together, and we hope that through this pandemic there is a silver lining for each and every one of you. Maybe it's a cheesy metaphor, but in baseball you want to be safe at home, anyway. The key is being safe and healthy. Let's all look out for each other and make it a point to hit hard and make up for time lost once this is all a part of the past. 35 Iconic Portraits of GCHS Senior Josie Stansberry

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville is proud to present Grainger County High School senior class of 2020, Josie Stansberry. We began by photographing Josie in her own back yard, just past the deceivingly realistic fake turkey. As a matter of fact, this is the second time we were able to photograph in this beautiful location since we previously photographed Josie's older sister, Allie, a few years ago. We knew the fall foliage was going to make for an amazing backdrop, but we also got more than we bargained for by climbing to the top of the hill for a more scenic view. After a short chocolate milk break, we made our way to Grainger County High School for some portraits around the school as well as our signature Iconic portraits on the football field in Josie's cheer attire. Josie's parents, Michelle and Jason, were able to be a big part of the session which brought us a few family portraits, plus ton of smiles and laughs! The Lenz' truly loved tagging along with the Stansberry family, and we appreciate the fun times creating portraits during this milestone event in Josie's life. Enjoy 35 Iconic Portraits of GCHS Senior Josie Stansberry.

16 Iconic Photos of UT Grad Kristin Meyer

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville presents Kristin Meyer, a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville. The Lenzes have had the opportunity of training jiu jitsu with Kristin over the last few years, so it was fun to create portraits of her while learning more about her career, hobbies, and interests (...aside from choking people unconscious.) Kristin recently graduated from UT with her Master of Science in Nursing and will be a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. When she's not caring for her patients, Kristin's hobbies include training martial arts such as jiu jitsu, and fixing up her Jeep, Prometheus, for the next big car show. Kristin's hard work and dedication is illustrated through everything she does from her school work, to her martial arts training and the detailed work she puts into her Jeep. A big thank you goes to Kristin for sharing all of her interests with us. We truly had a blast creating some Iconic graduation portraits together! And yes, the blue tick hound photographed is the actual niece of Smokey whom we were able to snag her for a photo! Last but not least, check out Kristin's jeep on her instagram page below! https://www.instagram.com/prometheus_chronicles/

49 Iconic Photos ft the Washburn Pirates Baseball and Softball Teams

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville presents the Washburn Pirates Baseball and Softball teams of Washburn High School! As mentioned in the previous post featuring the Grainger Grizzlies, this year's weather has been crazy! Either it has been too cold or too wet to photograph on the fields for photos during the month of March. So, whereas the Grainger Baseball & Softball teams had outdoor shots, we opted to photograph the Washburn Baseball & Softball portraits inside the gym. Needless to say, Plan B turned out to be Plan A+. We couldn't be happier with how they turned out! As a matter of fact, one of the players said that they "felt like they were in a Gatorade commercial" as they stepped on set in front of all the lights. We're glad the players had fun during the shoot, and even more glad the photos turned out amazing! It was an honor working with some of Grainger County's finest athletes! This set features 49 Iconic Photos ft the Washburn Pirates Baseball and Softball Teams!

68 Iconic Photos ft the Grainger Grizzlies Baseball & Softball Teams

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville presents the Grainger Grizzlies Baseball & Softball Teams of Grainger County High School! One thing that we can all agree on is that this year's weather has been crazy! We were lucky enough to coordinate with the coaches of Grainger to find a day that wasn't either too cold or too wet to shoot outside. We were successful in our approach to find a warm day, however the gale force winds that crept up during the shoot was a prefect example of Murphy's Law. Nothing a little extra editing couldn't fix! Thank you, parents of Grainger athletes, for your patience in our efforts to ensure all the prints and products are produced at the highest quality. We look forward to completing everyone's orders within the week! The prints are going to look amazing! This set features 68 Iconic Photos ft the Grainger Grizzlies Baseball & Softball Teams!

62 Iconic Photos ft the Washburn Boys & Girls Basketball Teams & Cheerleaders

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville presents the Boys & Girls Washburn Pirates Basketball Teams & Cheerleaders of Washburn High School! The following excerpt is originally from the previous Grainger Grizzlies blog, but we wanted to include it for this blog because Washburn is part of Grainger County and we're all family! "Now, some of you may be coming here just to see the awesome photos of the boys & girls basketball teams [and cheerleaders]. But for those of you that take the time to read this post, I'd like to personally give a shout out to the coaches, staff, players, & parents of Grainger County [Washburn included]. We have photographed several Grainger County Senior Portraits over the years, but this  - along with Washburn's Girls & Boys Basketball team & Cheerleaders - has been the largest sports groups we have photographed back to back. Not only was this shoot personal to me because I am an alumnus of Grainger County High School graduating from Rutledge High School in 2008, but it means the world to me that the people of Grainger County were as happy and excited about the photos as we were! I'm not just saying this because I'm partial to Grainger County, but the players, coaches, & parents were some of the most polite and respectful groups of people whom we have worked with in over 7 years of business. Since we started Lenz Photography, LLC in 2011, we have been a small business with only 2 employees - Alexandra and myself. We have been through the lowest of lows where we thought we may have to call it quits, to the highest of highs where we traveled 10s of thousands of miles in a year photographing professional athletes such as Drew Brees and Jason Witten. One thing is for sure, there's no way we could've gotten this far without the support like we've received from the people of Grainger County. Thank you for all the support, and hopefully we photograph many more Grainger County sports teams in the future! Last but not least, we can't wait to see the team shots and individual senior banners hanging in the gym!" This set features 62 Iconic Photos ft the Washburn Boys & Girls Basketball Teams & Cheerleaders!

19 Iconic Photos of Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt Courtney Burlingame

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville brings you jiu jitsu athlete Courtney Burlingame! When it comes to training hard, Courtney is no stranger. No wonder she had recent success in competition although she was just promoted to blue belt! Courtney's training consists of Kicktrain, Maxfit, and Jiu Jitsu at Fit Factory 5 days a week. But it doesn't stop there. Courtney also trains 5 days a week at the Pedro Sauer association, Alpha and Omega. Courtney has lost 80 pounds with Jiu Jitsu and the Kicktrain and Maxfit with Gene Click Fit Factory. Most impressively, Courtney does it all while being the wife of a farmer and badass mommy of 2! This set features 19 Iconic Photos of Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt Courtney Burlingame!

36 Iconic Senior Portraits of Garrett Gribble from Maryville High School

Lenz Photography LLC of Knoxville brings you jiu jitsu athlete and Class of 2019 Senior, Garrett Gribble, of Maryville High School! We have personally known and trained jiu jitsu with Garrett for over a year and a half. However, Garrett has been training for almost 10 years! If you can't tell from all the gold hardware, Garrett has competed in dozens of jiu jitsu tournaments since his childhood. As a matter of fact, the gold medal you see in front (photographed above) is one of Garrett's proudest accomplishment. Garrett earned that particular gold medal by locking up a guillotine submission in the first 15 seconds of a match! Not only did we create amazing jiu jitsu portraits of Garrett, but we were also able to photograph a few casual portraits of Garrett at a Maryville park that is sentimental to the family. Garrett's mom, Darlene, has taken Garrett on walks at Sandy Springs Park since he was in a stroller! Moreover, Garrett's grandfather worked for the park for 18 years and even planted the tree in the first few portraits. Now, we won't embarrass Garret by telling the "trolls under the bridge" story, or how he used to "count the light poles" from his stroller, but the list of reasons why Sandy Springs Park is sentimental to the family goes on and on! A big thanks goes to Maryville Jiu Jitsu for allowing us to shoot at their gym between classes. And also, a big shout out goes to "Baby Joe", Joesph Watson, for letting Garrett man handle him during the shoot! This set features 36 Iconic Senior Portraits of Garrett Gribble from Maryville High School!
