Blood Moon Over the Atlanta Skyline – Behind the Image

What an awesome image of the Blood Moon over Atlanta, huh? Well, maybe I should apologize for what you’re about to see. The image of the skyline is our image from a few month ago, the moon is a stock image that I added the red tint to, and the rest is history. Unfortunately, it was rainy and extremely overcast in Atlanta last night, and there wasn’t even the slightest bit of the eclipse visible from the city. Epic View of Atlanta Skyline at Night

What an epic view of the Atlanta skyline! This post is a bit different than our normal posts, however this shot of the Atlanta skyline was just too cool not to share! This location, on Jackson Street near Freedom Parkway, is very easily accessible to grab a quick shot of the city. Also, this view happens to be one of the most famous locations for AMC’s “The Walking Dead“. Now, the production for The Walking Dead may have use a tad bit of post production in their image, but the angle of the skyline and the apartments on the left are still identifiable, nonetheless. Behind the Scenes – Drum Set at Sunset

The Down & Dirty This location, over 2 years ago, was where we took one of our first award winning photographs that would unknowingly be 1 of only 15 photos — out of nearly 30,000 photos worldwide — to be displayed at the Photoshop & You event in San Francisco, California. Now, not to take anything away from our first photo because we were honored to have our work displayed by Adobe, but it has been over 2 years now and we knew that we had to give the same concept another run just to see what we could do to push it over the top. Needless to say, the results were unparalleled. Our Setup Here at Lenz Photography, we’re always experimenting with new lighting and other techniques to push our sessions to the next level to keep things interesting on a creative level. As you can see in the behind the scenes video above, we used a 3 light setup for these shots — (1) Main Light – Minimal diffusion, High above the subject, Angled slightly downward to fill in the drum set and create some shadows under the eyebrows, nose, and chin for contrast and depth.
