About the Session

Lenz Photography is proud to present 64 Iconic Senior Portraits ft Braden, Martial Artist, Class of 2025.

The Experience

If you’ve followed our photography journey over the past 14 years, then you know that Lenz specializes in Sports Photography. While we love photographing all sports, we’re the biggest fans and followers of Mixed Martial Arts. This session with Braden was perfect for us to collaborate with the goal of showcasing his talent through photographs.

Here is a breakdown of Braden’s Martial Arts Accomplishments:

• Age 8 – Began training Karate & performed with the Demo Team
• Age 9 – Began competing with the Performance Team
• Age 13 – Began training Jiu Jitsu
• Age 13 – Received First Degree Black Belt in Karate
• Age 14 – Began teaching technique
• Age 15 – Received Second Degree Black Belt in Karate
• Age 16 – Received Blue Belt in Jiu Jitsu

When asked about his mixed martial arts journey, this is what Braden had to say:

Doing martial arts has shaped my life. It has taught me to role with the punches and how not give up when things are difficult. Martial art has taught me to think outside of the box and to try different things, because not all fights or battles are won the same.

The Vision

The goal with Braden’s session was to showcase his talents and awards in a creative way. Knoxville Academy of Martial Arts is Braden’s home gym and they were kind enough to allow us access in order to photograph these Senior Portraits of Braden. The gym was very nice and clean and had everything we needed to showcase Braden’s Karate and Jiu Jitsu talents. As always, we got creative with our lighting to enhance the mood of the photos. We used gels to add color that we felt matched each scene. We used a mix of warm and cool tones in scenes, green to accentuate the color of his boxing gloves, orange to create a sunburst effect, and even red and blue which typically is used for each fighter’s corner.

The Final Product

Braden’s Senior Session was too much fun. We love photographing martial arts, and Braden was great to work with. He was a good mix of talented and humble. We can’t wait to follow his journey and see where his hard work and dedication takes him in the future!
